“Fiscal Cliff” put in a much easier to understand perspective:

“Fiscal Cliff” put in a much better perspective.

Lesson # 1:
* U.S. Tax revenue: $2,170,000,000,000
* Fed budget: $3,820,000,000,000
* New debt: $ 1,650,000,000,000
* National debt: $14,271,000,000,000
* Recent budget cuts: $ 38,500,000,000

Let’s now remove 8 zeros and pretend it’s a household budget:

* Annual family income: $21,700
* Money the family spent: $38,200
* New debt on the credit card: $16,500
* Outstanding balance on the credit card: $142,710
* Total budget cuts so far: $38.50

Got It ??…….OK now,
Lesson # 2:
Here’s another way to look at the Debt Ceiling:
Let’s say, You come home from work and find
there has been a sewer backup in your neighborhood….
and your home has sewage all the way up to your ceilings.
What do you think you should do ……

Raise the ceilings, or remove the shit?

Call-in Your Tweets and Make Social Networking History

“Hands Free Tweeting” is FINALLY Here!  Phrase coined by Vinny Guadagnino on Twitter

http://twitter.com/#!/VINNYGUADAGNINO/statuses/37663434803781632

Call in your Tweets  and Facebook status updates with your Cell Phone!

For the first time in social networking history, you can call in “Voice Tweets” (Shouts, as we like to call them) with your phone and they automatically post to your Twitter and Facebook feeds.

Yes, you read that correctly!  You can call in your Shouts  using our variety of Shout Hot Line numbers and as soon as you hang-up, your audible Shout is automatically posted to your Twitter, Facebook and beyond!

Simply link the phone number that you will be calling in your Shouts from in your ShoutOmatic Settings and you are ready to start calling in your Shouts at any time, no matter where you are.

Just as a note of interest:  We actually developed the “phone in your Tweets” technology when we heard that certain governments, such as Egypt, Bahrain, Yemen and China were shutting down Internet access to their citizens.  We have a separate hot line number 717-SHOUT-13 (001-717-746-8813) that allows anyone to call in their Voice Tweet messages and it automatically posts to Twitter at handle @PhonedIntweets for the entire world to HEAR.

ShoutOmatic granted Trademark for the word “Shout”

New “Shout” Technology!

ShoutOmatic just went live with a very powerful new technology that allows any of your “links” for Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin, Google+, etc to have a “Voice Message” heard FIRST, before your Followers are directed to your final link destination! WOW!

After your Shout is heard the Shout page can auto-resolve to any page on the internet; Web page, shopping page, iTunes Store, Facebook page, Youtube Video, coupon codes, etc.

When you create a “Shout” in ShoutOmatic, you can now enter a “Post Shout” URL destination that people will be landed on AFTER your Shout is heard! In this example below, after my Voice Shout is listened to, the listeners browser immediately resolves to http://TheSocialNorm.com

Zendaya (Shake It Up) Coleman’s Sweet 16

I was invited to Zendaya’s Sweet 16.  My favorite part of this star-studded event was being able to hang. bond and dance with my daughter!

We are grateful to Zendaya’s Mom and Dad for having us.  Zendaya was stunning in looks and in charm!

We were probably the only “non-stars” at the extravaganza, but most thought my daughter was on a TV show or thought she should be:-)

Who did we party with along side Zendaya?

Bella Thorne, Blake Michael, Roshon (did they ever give you a spoon my Man:-), Poplyfe, Kelli Berglund, Billy Unger, Davis Cleveland, China Anne McClain, Sierra McCormick, Carlon Jeffery, Karan Brar and Skai Jackson, plus Kylie Jenner, Kat McNamara, Noah Cyrus, Trevor Jackson and Anna Maria Perez de Tagle.

And in lieu of gifts, Zendaya invited her guests to bring backpacks, books and school supplies that will be donated to children in need at a local neighborhood school. The response was overwhelming and Zendaya will personally deliver the supplies in the coming weeks, just in time for back-to-school.

Happy Birthday Zendaya!

Mobile Marketer: Insight from Norm Levy

What marketers risk by not taking a mobile-first approach

By Rimma Kats
Marketers need to understand that mobile is no longer a nice-to-have and, while companies such as Gilt Groupe and Disney are seeing success thanks to their mobile-first approach, a majority of companies have yet to adopt the same mentality and are missing out on a big opportunity.

Creating a mobile-first powerhouse will separate the leaders from the followers. Although the medium is still relatively new, marketers need to move past the testing stages and think beyond what their competitors are doing.“

A mobile device is accessible and in everyone’s hands,” said Norm Levy, founder of ShoutOmatic. “Mobile offers the holy grail for advertisers allowing for a two-way dialogue with prospects and customers.

“The day of push advertising is old-school and mobile allows for pull in the most creative, fun, current and relevant manner possible,” he said. “Advertisers realize the need to be current and relevant in the eyes of their customers.

“Advertisers can be joined-at-the-hip with their prospects and customers if they exploit a mobile-first strategy.”   Norm Levy
